Madex Twin is an insecticidal virus for the combined control of oriental fruit moth (OFM) and codling moth (CM) in stone and pome fruit. The active substance of Madex Twin is a naturally occurring codling moth virus selected for its ability to infect and kill larvae of both key pests.
- Efficient and combined damage control of codling moth and oriental fruit moth
- Unique mode of action with additional effect on pest population. Therefore Madex Twin is an excellent product for resistance management in IPM strategies
- Suitable for residue free production. Madex Twin can be used up to harvest and therefore offers a solution for exporting markets and baby food production.
Oriental fruit moth (Grapholita molesta) is a serious pest of economic importance to commerical ochards of peaches, nectarines and apricots. It frequently migrates to pome fruit ochards in the late season, where it can cause substantial fruit damage before harvest. Recent studies confirmed that OFM is also able to complete its entire life cycle on alternative hosts such as apple, cherry, plum, and quinces. First and second generation larvae bore into tips of fruit trees causing dieback, distortion and wilting of shoots. In response to the hardening shoots, fruit feeding increases dramatically in subsequent generations
