For 30 years, Franz Bollhalder has helped shape Andermatt with his technical expertise, practical mindset and strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Franz first joined what was then Andermatt Biocontrol as a young horticultural engineering trainee. From the early days, he brought energy, curiosity and creativity to many different areas of the business – from R&D and beekeeping products to Encarsia (parasitic wasp for the control of whitefly) production and the development of specialised machines, some of which are still in use today.

Over the years, Franz has taken on important leadership roles across the Andermatt Group. His approach is grounded in trust, responsibility and enabling people to grow. Since 2016, he has also played a key role in implementing Lean Management and Lean Six Sigma within the group. Today, this combination of mindsets and knowledge has shaped an internal philosophy known as AMS (The Andermatt Management System).
In March 2026, Franz joined the Andermatt Management Board, where he now plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Andermatt.
Today, we celebrate Franz not only for his many professional achievements, but also for the lasting contribution he has made to the development of the group. His commitment, creativity and drive to improve continue to inspire colleagues across Andermatt.
