Nomu-Protec

A bio-insecticide for the management of caterpillars and other insect pests

Nomu-Protec is based on the insect-pathogenic fungus Metarhizium rileyi (previously known as Nomuraea rileyi) that infects and controls lepidopteran insect pests, especially those of the Noctuidae family.

The host range includes the economically important Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) and the African bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) amongst others. Nomu-Protec’s unique formulation prevents the fungal spores from drying out and enhances pest infection. In numerous field trials, Nomu-Protec proved to be very effective revealing a significant decrease in the pest population. Nomu-Protec also shows effective reduction in feeding damage shortly after infection.
