D\u00e8s que les petits atteignent la maturit\u00e9, ils sont chass\u00e9s du terrier par leurs parents. Les zones r\u00e9cemment exemptes de campagnols seront continuellement repeupl\u00e9es par la prog\u00e9niture juv\u00e9nile. La (r\u00e9)immigration dans ces zones se fait en surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La cl\u00f4ture emp\u00eache la (r\u00e9)immigration dans la zone prot\u00e9g\u00e9e. De plus, les campagnols qui se d\u00e9placent sur le sol se cachent dans les bo\u00eetes d'attente, plac\u00e9es le long de la cl\u00f4ture, pour se prot\u00e9ger des ennemis naturels et seront pi\u00e9g\u00e9s. Les ennemis naturels (renards, chats, oiseaux de proie, blaireaux, hermines, etc.) apprennent \u00e0 v\u00e9rifier r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement les bo\u00eetes d'attente et \u00e0 ouvrir la bo\u00eete en poussant le couvercle rabattable et \u00e0 saisir l'app\u00e2t. Le couvercle se referme, et le pi\u00e8ge est pr\u00eat pour le prochain campagnol \u00e0 pi\u00e9ger.
